You say tomato...

Remember how I decided to make an attempt at growing tomatoes and was super excited when they actually started to sprout/grow/not die???

Look!

What I haven't mentioned is that we seem to have a pest control problem when it comes to said tomatoes. Her name is Sydney and she likes to pick them right off the vine, red, green, or in between, and dig in!

Maybe next year she'll share with the rest of us :)

Pop quiz hot shot.

What do you do when you have been in the ER for 2+ hours and they finally decide to put you in a room? Can you even really call it a room when the curtain doesn't even close all the way and you can see everyone walking by and they can see you? Back to the question...what do you do? If you're my hubby, you work your magic by trying to make me laugh. With rubber gloves.

It worked. Right up until the guy wearing bdus came in weilding a needle and gave me a shot in the bum...

Shoes to fill

Sydney's got some big shoes to fill there.

But she seems up for it, even if they are on the wrong feet :)

On a side note, how cute are those flats??? One word, Target. Another word, cheap. $16.99 anyone? Another word, comfortable. It's not too many pairs of shoes that get me to shed my flipflops to work! One last word. OK, five last words. I want them in blue!

What we've been up to...

In an attempt to make up for the lack of posts over the last week, I'm going to send y'all into picture overload. Consider yourself warned. And enjoy :)

Sydney racked up at Target last weekend. She got a new wagon which she demands to be pushed around in CONSTANTLY!

Notice also that our backyard has been taken over by balls. And no, there is not a spray for an infestation such as this. She also got a new t-ball set and is quite efficient at putting the ball on the tee and hitting it off. Would I be pushing it if I bought her one of the pink kiddie gloves they sell at Target?

Don't worry. We didn't actually buy her this. That's not to say she wouldn't have loved it, but I'm not quite ready for my baby to be riding a dirt bike. I mean, she can't even reach the pedals! Daddy did get a new one though. Here he is loading it in the back of the truck last weekend on his way to ride!

Hmm. Maybe I should buy him some ramps for his birthday or Christmas this year so he doesn't have to back his truck up to the ditch in our front yard to load the bike. But shhhh. Don't say anything. It'll spoil the surprise!

We also had a visit from Doug's cousin Dara last weekend along with her three kids, Shannon, Rachel, and Daniel. We ate Mexican and played Guitar Hero until the wee hours of the morning. Let me tell you, there's nothing like getting schooled by a 13 year old playing songs that were popular before she was born to make you feel old! We also spent a few hours in the pool.

How cute are Dara and Pebbles, I mean Sydney! :)

Getting a hug from her cousin Daniel!

A post from road...

This is my first attempt at posting from my cell, but I figured what better time to try it out than when I am on the bus heading to a conference for work. A bus that smells like beef jerky. Really. I think it's being piped in through the ac. All I have to say is it's a good thing I'm not pregnant!

Yesterday morning I stood in what was quite possibly the longest Starbucks line ever at the convention center downtown and there was a blind man behind me. Said blind man kept running into me. I counted at least 6 times. My first thought was to turn around and ask if he didn't see me standing there the first few times. Thankfully I have more patience than that. I'm also not an ass.

I'm also reminded why I voluntarily work ungodly early in the morning. That's because I don't have to sit in the traffic I'm currently in. I know I know. I'm on a bus and not driving myself, but all this stop and go is making me carsick. Not a good thing when I'm already queasy from the lingering aroma of beef jerky!

One last thing before I stop boring y'all to death. Who knew you could do/ride/fly (what is the correct verb here) on a trapeze in downtown DC?
