Sydney loves...

Sydney loves the wind in her face!

She loves going down the slide on her belly.

She also loves m&m's. I wonder who she got THAT from :)

She prefers carrying around a box instead of riding on her cool Barbie fourwheeler.

Mommy loves her in pigtails :)

On the Road Again

The last few weeks have involved a lot of time on the road for us. There was Doug's retirement down in VA, 4th of July in PA, and my best friend's wedding back home in MS. I shudder to think about the combined number of hours we logged in the car. Just know that it was an obscene amount. MS alone is just shy of 1000 miles one way! But it was worth every second in the car to be with my family and friends.

We stopped at a Hardee's in South Carolina for lunch. It was here that Perez Hilton's doppelganger took our order. I didn't take his picture for fear of him spitting in our food or something. I did get a picture of this guy instead.

Jake Ryan was there too! OK, not really. But I can't see a red Porsche without screeching "Jaaaaaake" in my best Farmer Ted voice. I know. I'm a geek.

A few hours later we arrived at Aunt Kate's in GA. Sydney was happy to be out of the car!

Mommy was happy to sit back and watch them play on the tennis courts!

Once we got to my mom's house, Aunt Lou showed up to spoil her rotten.

So did Aunt Kathy.

Who bought her these crocs, which she has taken off her feet only to sleep!

And all her cousins.

Especially Hayley.

Sydney is lucky to have them in her life.

I present to you...

My

so

called

life,

AKA more items dredged from the bottom of my purse, Sydney getting her climb on, Sydney multi-tasking brushing her teeth, putting on her shoes, and sailing, and Sydney sharing a goldfish with her daddy.

I wouldn't trade this life for anything in the world. Not even Jordan Catalano :)

MomMom's: Day 2

At the end of Day 1, I left you with an unknown picture. Turns out, Sydney does not like it when Daddy shoots off bottlerockets, which causes her to jump out of her skin when it starts whistling all while sitting in Mommy's lap while she's trying to take a picture of said bottlerocket. So there you go. The blur was my attempt at photographing a bottlerocket while holding Sydney. Epic fail.

Anyway, Day 2 was full of sunny skies.

New friends.

Note: This was the closest I had been to a black bear since the time I hit one with my car and the other time I was playing centerfield and saw everyone running in then turned around to see they were all running because there was a bear behind me out by the road! Thankfully, this one was stuffed and mounted.

Old friends.

Old friends and Jello shots.

One Cozy Coupe.

Hazzard Style, of course!

Watching fireworks.

And one of many sad attempts at using the fireworks setting on my camera with a dying battery.

Hope y'all had a good 4th!

MomMom's: Day 1

Thursday afternoon Doug picked me up at metro with Sydney and all our bags in tow. From there, we headed up to Potter County AKA God's Country AKA the closest shopping mall with my favorite retail outlets is well over an hour away AKA MomMom Bonner's house for the 4th. After sitting in abysmal traffic on the beltways around both DC and Baltimore for a couple of hours, the rest of our fourish hours in the car were relatively uneventful.

Friday morning we woke up to dreary skies.

We decided to take Sydney to see the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon anyway.

Gee MomMom, what a lovely chin you have! Actually, they were singing Row Row Row Your Boat and Sydney was enamored with her annunciation. It was cute :)

Gearing up.

Was the baby leash really necessary?

Why yes.

Yes it was.

Obligatory family selfportrait! I don't know why, but I feel like there should be some Wayne's World-esque zooming going on now :)

We made it back to the car just in the nick of time!

This is the view from Doug's mom's backdoor. You can see the sun TRYING to peek out.

It did. But it was still COLD!

70 degrees as a high in July is completely foreign to me when this was the temp my car showed on our trip home to Mississippi just a few weeks ago!

There's a birdhouse in her soul :)

Any guesses as to what this is?

Stay tuned to find out...
